MSP investigating hit-and-run of believed jumper

Troopers from the Golden Ring Barrack were dispatched Monday at about 9:30 p.m. to respond to the area of Northbound I-795 at Pleasant Hill Rd, Baltimore County, MD for a subject that jumped from the Pleasant Hill Road overpass on to Northbound I-795.

Upon arrival, several witnesses at the scene stated the subject jumped and was then struck by multiple vehicles. The subject was pronounced dead at the scene by Baltimore County paramedics. Maryland State Police, Criminal Enforcement Division was notified and TFC Updegraff responded to the scene for further investigation. The subject was identified as Ronnie Sherrod Lewis, 43 years old of Reisterstown, Maryland. Mr. Lewis' next of kin was notified by Troopers from the Golden Ring Barrack.

The vehicles that struck the body left the scene and have not been identified at this time.  Vehicle parts were located on the scene and were recovered as evidence.

Northbound I-795 was closed from Owings Mills Blvd to Franklin Blvd in response to the incident.
