A woman taken to the hospital Sunday with cuts on her neck after her toddler was found dead and she was found bleeding has been charged.
Officials with the Baltimore Police Department say Nicole Fitzgerald is charged with first and second degree murder, first degree child abuse, first degree assault, reckless endangerment and possession of a dangerous weapon with intent to injure.
The incident happened in the 1400 block of Broening Hwy. in Southeast Baltimore. From the beginning, police have said Fitzgerald is a person of interest in the 2-year-old's death.
Police say the boy died from a stab wound to his neck.
