A double shooting was reported in the parking lot of a gas station in Dundalk Thursday morning.

Baltimore County Police said a man and a woman were shot at the gas station, located at Merritt Boulevard and German Hill Road.

"Just after 7 a.m. we received a call for a shooting. When our officers responded they found two victims outside of a car in a parking lot of the gas station. There was a male victim, it looks like he was shot multiple times in the upper body and a female victim who was shot a single time," Baltimore County Police Cpl. Shawn Vinson said.

Both victims were taken to an area hospital. There has been no word yet on their conditions.

"The relationship between the victims, we do believe that they know each other. We're not sure if they were husband and wife, a couple, but we'll continue to try and positively identify both the victims and notify family members," Cpl. Vinson said.

Police believe the incident may have been targeted, but are still investigating a motive. Cpl. Vinson said the two were approached while they were in the parking lot and multiple shots were fired at the victims.

The suspect or suspects fled the scene. Police said they were not able to confirm if it was just one shooter.

"We just don't know. We don't know if this was a robbery or what led up to the shooting, so we're continuing to look into all the details try and see what evidence we have and if we have any witnesses to this crime we ask that they come forward at this point and assist us in successfully concluding this case," Cpl. Vinson said.

Anyone with information is asked to contact police at 410-307-2020.
