Dozens of people came out to get their heads shaved on Sunday. All to show solidarity with kids fighting cancer. The St. Baldrick's Foundation hosted the 6th Annual Baltimore Heroes signature head-shaving event at Martin's East.
"They fight these terrible battles and they're tougher than any of us ever will be. basically we're shaving our head in solidarity with these kids and saying 'hey you guys are awesome you guys are tough' and we're doing everything we can to try to end this for all the kids out there", said Dan Jarkiewicz, a St. Baldrick's Foundation Volunteer.
Last year's event raised more than $128,000. Organizers are hoping for even more this year. The foundation is part of a nationwide organization that funds children's cancer research.
