Sunday is the 24th annual Susan G. Komen Race for the Cure. Drivers in Hunt Valley will be affected by numerous road closures.
The race starts at 8 a.m. Closures begin at 5:45 a.m. Police encourage drivers to avoid the areas between 6 a.m. and 11:30 a.m.
Road closures are as follows:
- Shawan Road at York Road: No westbound traffic will be allowed to travel on Shawan Road after 5:45 a.m. At 7:30 a.m. all southbound traffic on York Road will be allowed as far as the Giant parking lot.
- Shawan Road at the entrance to the Hunt Valley Towne Centre (east entrance, across from Verizon): No traffic will be allowed to exit the Towne Centre parking lot after 6 a.m.
- Shawan Road at main entrance to Hunt Valley Towne Centre (near Light Rail): No traffic will be allowed to exit the Towne Centre parking lot after 6 a.m. (Once the race ends on Shilling Road, eastbound Shawan Road will be opened).
