40-year-old ski shop going out of business

After 40 years in business, Reisterstown's historic Ski Shoppe is closing its doors. 

The Ski Shoppe Ltd. opened in 1976. Its founder, Gerry Brown, was an avid skier and sport enthusiast. The shop is located in an historic building on the corner of Main Street and Cockeys Mill Road.

The store announced its closing via Facebook. The going out of business sale began Tuesday and goes through Sunday. All merchandise is marked down 30 to 50 percent.
