PIKESVILLE - A fire inside a Baltimore County apartment complex Thursday morning sent two people to the hospital and left 24 without a place to stay.
Before 3:30 a.m., firefighters were called to the unit block of Tentmill Lane in Pikesville, not far from the Beltway, according to dispatchers.
Two people were sent to Northwest Hospital for treatment of suspected smoke inhalation, but their injuries were not deemed to be life-threatening. Twenty-four residents were left without a home in the wake of the blaze.
The cold weather was proving a challenge for fire crews as water quickly started to freeze.
It is unclear how the fire started.
Crews remained on scene at 6:50 a.m.
