Field to be dedicated in Yeardley Love's honor

TOWSON, Md. - Notre Dame Preparatory School plans to dedicate a field in honor of alumna Yeardley Love, a standout lacrosse player who was killed while attending the University of Virginia.
The Towson school said Thursday that the turf field will be dedicated Sept. 9 in a ceremony that will include prayers and remarks from the Love family and school representatives, as well as readings, music and a blessing of the field.

The $1.2 million field will be used for field hockey, lacrosse and soccer.
Love was found dead in her off-campus Charlottesville apartment in May 2010.

Love's on-again, off-again boyfriend George Huguely V, who also played lacrosse at the University of Virginia, has been convicted of killing her.

This week, Huguely lost his bid for a new trial.
