One woman is dead after her car drove off the roadway and hit a barrier on the Inner Loop of I-695 just before the Charles Street exit.
Around 3:31 a.m. Kerri Shaneybrook, 25, of Bel Air was driving a 1997 Mercedes C230 on the Inner Loop when the Mercedes left the road and hit a concrete barrier, according to Maryland State Police.
Shaneybrook was ejected from the car and pronounced dead at the scene by a Baltimore County Fire Department paramedic, state police said.
Police are not sure why the car left the road.
The crash remains under investigation and any witnesses are asked to contact state police at 410-780-2700.
The Inner Loop was shut down at the Charles Street exit in the wake of the crash, but was reopened to traffic by 6:30 a.m. Thursday.
Alternate routes include Joppa Road or northbound I-83 to Padonia or Timonium roads then southbound on York Road.
