DUNDALK, Md. - Watersedge, a community in Dundalk near the Key Bridge, is bracing for Hurricane Sandy, hoping it won't flood the area like Isabel did.
Charlene Maurer, like many of her neighbors in a Watersedge, is bracing herself, waiting for Hurricane Sandy to hit.
Maurer's basement flooded in 2003, during Isabel, causing $40,000 in damage.
She's hoping Hurricane Sandy isn't a repeat (or worse than Isabel), but to prepare she bought two sump pumps, a humidifier, and a Shop-Vac to help prevent damage during this storm.
Many of the homes on her street were raised up several feet after Isabel. Maurer didn't raise hers, but she's hoping the sump pumps kick in and do their job.
