Cal Ripken Sr. Foundation helps donate baseball equipment to city schools

BALTIMORE -  Marucci Sports and the Cal Ripken, Sr. Foundation announced Wednesday they will $25,000 worth of equipment to Baltimore city high school baseball programs.

Each school will receive a variety of uniform and equipment options including a workhorse, batting gloves, helmets and aluminum bats, to use throughout the 2014 spring baseball season.

The Cal Ripken, Sr. Foundation uses baseball- and softball-themed programs to help build character and teach critical life lessons to underserved youth residing in America’s most distressed communities.

The Ripken Foundation has completed 18 Youth Development Parks across the country, including three in the Baltimore area, with four additional Maryland locations on the horizon.
