RANDALLSTOWN, Md. (AP) - Baltimore County police have filed gun and drug charges against the boyfriend of a Randallstown woman who was fatally shot by police after brandishing a gun and threatening to kill an officer after police tried to serve arrest warrants at her apartment.
Officers shot and killed 23-year-old Korryn Gaines after she barricaded herself inside her apartment Monday with a 5-year-old boy and pointed a shotgun at officers.
Gaines was wanted for failing to appear in court on charges relating to a March traffic stop.
Thirty-nine-year-old Kareem Courtney, who lived in the apartment with Gaines and was present when police arrived, was charged Friday with nine criminal counts, including possession of a firearm by a convicted felon.
According to online court records, he faces a preliminary hearing on Sept. 2.
