ROSEDALE, Md. - Baltimore County police are investigating the death of Dundalk man found near train tracks in the Rosedale area, according to a release from the department.
The man was in possession of a stolen ATV that "broke down on him next to the train tracks" just prior to the accident, spokesman Lt. Robert McCullough said.
"The victim is not being identified at this time pending the notification of the next of kin," the release states. "This accident highlights the danger of people trespassing upon railroad property. Citizens are being asked to stay away from all railway property in Baltimore County."
Police were dispatched to the 200 block of Philadelphia Ave. at about 5:48 p.m. The Dundalk man was pronounced dead at the scene.
"It appears that the subject did not hear the train coming down the track at a high rate of speed," according to the release.
The incident majorly disrupted MARC train and Amtrak service Tuesday.
