During Tuesday's meeting, a Baltimore County Board of Education member is expected to propose an amendment to the heat closure policy.

A new policy for this school year requires schools without air conditioning to close if the heat index is forecast to reach 90 degrees or above by 11 a.m.

Many parents have expressed frustration with the new policy, but most can agree that kids should not be stuck in schools without air-conditioning.

Baltimore County Executive Kevin Kamenetz said he supports air-conditioning in all schools, but says it's not something that can happen immediately.
