BALTIMORE - Baltimore Gas and Electric is working to make sure you aren't in the dark during the next big storm.
BGE employees are participating in a "storm drill" this week in effort to improve response during severe weather situations. The company holds a storm drill every year in attempt to become better prepared, each year bringing new knowledge.
"There's about 200 employees from BGE participating. They are testing their plans, their best practices and making sure all of our plans are up to date – in line with industry standards and streamlining. So, we can restore services as quickly as safely as possible when storms hit."
BGE's storm drill began Monday at noon and runs through Friday.
BGE serves more than 1.2 million electric customers and more than 650,000 gas customers in 10 Central Maryland counties.
