Baltimore County School Board eliminates heat closure policy

The Baltimore County School Board voted Tuesday to eliminate a heat closure policy that closes school without air conditioning on extremely hot days. 

The policy was passed in August of 2016. It required schools without air conditioning to close if the index is forecast to reach 90 degrees by 11 a.m.

At the meeting Tuesday, the majority of the board said they wanted the superintendent to make the decision.
