DUNDALK, Md. - Residents of Dundalk said before the storm that they were concerned about flooding. As what remained of Hurricane Sandy left Maryland Tuesday, it was clear they had good reason for concern.
Several streets held shin-deep water and deeper.
Avoiding standing water, as suggested by officials, was simply not an option for many as they mend bruises after a storm that was forecast to be much more dangerous than experienced.
The National Guard has taken over operations in the Dundalk and Miller's Island area. Roads have been blocked to thru traffic.
