Summer is in full swing, and while school is out, kids can still get free meals. Baltimore County Public School is participating in the Summer Food Service Program, which is sponsored by the U.S. Department of Agriculture. It provides free meals to children 18 and under, and does not require anyone apply or register to take part.
From now until July 28, 44 Baltimore County schools will be serving free breakfast and lunch to kids Monday through Friday. Ten branches of the Baltimore County Public Library are providing free lunches until August 25.
Breakfast will consist of cereal, a breakfast bar, or a toaster pastry served with fruit or juice and milk. For lunch, the program offers a cold sandwich, fruit or vegetable, juice or frozen treat, and milk.
