Baltimore County students head back to school Monday after the holiday break, and county police are expected to be on the lookout out for drivers who pass school buses that are stopped to pick up and drop off children.
Officials say drivers put kids at risk of getting hurt when passing stopped buses.
Maryland law states that drivers must come to a complete stop on both sides of the street, and aren't allowed to pass the bus until its lights have stopped flashing.
Drivers who violate this law could be fined $570 and issued a 3-point penalty on their record.
