3rd suspect in Timonium pill mill case surrenders

TIMONIUM, Md. - Baltimore County police confirm a third person wanted in connection with a suspected pill mill in Timonium has turned herself in.  Alina Margulis, 45, of Brooklyn, NY, surrendered to police earlier today.  According to court documents, she is one of three operators involved in the Healthy Life Medical Group, a pain clinic in Timonium.  Baltimore County police say she has been charged with conspiracy to distribute Schedule II narcotics.  During a court appearance this morning, bail for Margulis was set at $50,000.

Last week that clinic was raided by officers from the Drug Enforcement Administration and Baltimore County police after local pharmacists and neighbors complained about the facility potentially operating as a pill mill.  As part of the raid, warrants were issued for Margulis, along with operators Michael Reznikov and Gerald Wiseberg.  Wiseberg and Reznikov were arrested last Tuesday.

Court documents show the three were operating a clinic where patients without insurance paid cash for prescriptions for prescription drugs like Oxycodone and Xanax.
