Millions in funding are headed to the Baltimore County Fire Department to help hire, recruit and retain firefighters.
Congressman John Sarbanes announced Monday that the fire department will get $1,519,368 in grant funding from the U.S. Department of Homeland Security. This federal grant is part of the Federal Emergency Management Agency's (FEMA) Staffing for Adequate Fire and Emergency Response (SAFER) program aimed to improve firefighting capabilities and preparedness across the country.
