BALTIMORE - Police are investigating a drive-by shooting near St. Agnes Hospital that was reported around 10:30 p.m. Wednesday.
"Very surprised. Very surprised. We normally, this is a quiet neighborhood all up and down this area, so we don't normally have those kind of things going on," said Portia Barnett, who lives close to the scene.
A woman reported that someone was following her, then the shots rang out. It happened just outside of the St. Agnes hospital parking lot on Caton Avenue, where police say the woman turned in to seek help. Officials would not comment on whether the shooter followed the woman into the hospital, or drove off.
"Now, it's just making me want to watch my surroundings. Because this is a busy street, so now I'm like is someone is trying to follow me or something like that? I'm just skeptical now," said neighbor Lakira Webb.
The woman was not hurt in the shooting, but her car was struck.
"It's shocking to me because something happening around here this way, it's pretty quiet. There's nothing going on around here," Webb said.
Police have not yet released a suspect or vehicle description. Representatives from St. Agnes hospital would not comment on the shooting.
