Volunteers packed Thanksgiving meals for needy people Thursday during the Maryland Food Bank's Pack to Give Back campaign.
More than 500 boxes containing traditional holiday fixings like cranberry sauce, stuffing and mashed potatoes were packed up and distributed to families.
The Maryland Food Bank is collecting donations online.
The Community Action Council of Howard County also announced Thursday that the new Howard County Food Bank will open Nov. 28, and will begin accepting donations Friday.
The 8,000 square foot facility is located at 9385 Gerwig Lane in Columbia.
