Vigil planned for transgender woman shot, killed in Baltimore

A vigil will be held Monday night in honor of a transgender woman killed in northwest Baltimore last week.

Crystal Edmonds, 32, was found lying on the sidewalk Friday morning in the 3600 block of Fairview Avenue with a gunshot wound to the back of her head. 

She later died at the hospital, police said.

The Baltimore Transgender Alliance is hosting a vigil Monday at 5:30 p.m. at The Ynot Lot in Baltimore, 1904 N Charles Street.

"Crystal’s brutal murder Friday morning has deeply grieved our community. We invite you to share this moment of solidarity and healing with us," the group said in a Facebook post.

A cash reward of up to $2,000 is being offered for information related to her death.
