Vacants to Value celebrates 2 year anniversary

BALTIMORE - Mayor Stephanie Rawlings-Blake and Baltimore Housing Commissioner Paul Graziano will celebrate the two year anniversary of the Vacants to Value Homebuyer program on Tuesday.

The program is the Mayor's initiative to encourage the purchase of vacant city properties.

The buyer will receive a deferred loan that can be used to make improvements on the property.

The initiative is projected to trigger rehabilitation of more than 1,000 vacant building around the city.

At today's celebration, the mayor is expected to make a major announcement.
