Officials from Under Armour, Baltimore City and the state of Maryland announced the opening of “UA Lighthouse,” a facility for manufacturing and design innovation, Tuesday morning.

The new facility, located in South Baltimore’s City Garage, will provide access to employees and partners with access to 3D design and body scanning, 3D printing and rapid prototyping and other technology to allow Under Armour to “be more responsive to markets around the world,” according to a press release.

“By coupling incredible machinery, technologies and material sourcing under one roof, UA Lighthouse will offer immediacy in manufacturing and will allow us to be more responsive to the needs of athletes in local community,” Under Armour CEO Kevin Plank said in a statement. “This venture will allow Under Armour to make product better, faster, and more efficiently while working hand-in-hand with our manufacturing and factory partners across the world."
