Baltimore Police are investigating a case where three children were attacked by pit bulls.

Police were called to the 2800 block of Edgecombe Circle around 10:50 p.m. where they found two aggressive and unconfined pit bulls.

Officers tried to secure them but their efforts were unsuccessful.

Police say the dogs charged at officers causing officers to discharge their weapons killing one and incapacitating the other dog.

Prior to the arrival of police, officers say two boys, ages 7 and 9, and one girl, age 6, were attacked by the dogs.

Each suffered small cuts and lacerations and were treated by Baltimore City medics.

Investigations revealed the children were playing when one dog jumped the fence and the other squeezed through the fence.

Police located the dogs’ owner. One was taken back to the other while the deceased one was taken by Animal Control.

This is an ongoing investigation.
