First responders in Baltimore City police are one step closer to getting an incentive to move into the city.

Monday night City Council members voted unanimously to give preliminary approval to the 2017 Public Safety Officers Property Tax Credit program. It would give full time workers with the fire department, police department, or sheriff's office, a $2,500 annual credit on their property tax bills, if they moved into Baltimore City.

The bill needs one more vote before it heads to Mayor Catherine Pugh's desk. She supports the measure.
