BALTIMORE - Smoke detectors recently installed by the Baltimore City Fire Department may have saved the lives of a family whose home caught fire Tuesday morning.
According to Baltimore City Fire Department, crews responded to a home on the 2400 block of Halcyon Avenue following a report of a fire.
Fire department spokesman Ian Brennan said there were no injuries reported and all of the residents were out of the house by the time crews arrived. Brennan added that several smoke alarms were installed in the dwelling last week and a resident told fire personnel on the scene that the alarms worked and helped alert them to the fire.
The cause of the fire is under investigation.
