NEW YORK - Want some ice cream? No need to scream -- just pick up a smartphone.
Today in several big U.S. cities, including Atlanta, Baltimore, Boston, Chicago, Denver, Houston, Los Angeles, Miami, New York, San Francisco and Washington, D.C. you can use your phone to order ice cream.
The promotion is offered by Uber -- the San Francisco startup known for letting people order private drivers using a smartphone app. The ice cream-on-demand service is good for today only -- and there are requirements that have to be met to get a cone or dish headed your way.
Last year's stunt got so many requests, all of them couldn't be fulfilled. Uber is warning that supplies this year will be very limited, too.
