A west Baltimore school community is helping one young student get back on his feet after a fire tore through his family's southwest Baltimore home.

Teachers and supporters at Alexander Hamilton Elementary School set up a GoFundMe page Sunday to raise $10,000 for a second grader named Deondray.

His family reportedly lost everything in a fire.

Deondray is a new student at the elementary school and his mother is pregnant with baby boy due in March, according to the page.

His teacher said he “loves reading, likes superheroes and has an awesome imagination. He is getting excellent grades, works very hard, tries his best and is loved by all of his classmates."

Community members are raising the money to help the family get settled into a new home and to replace their lost belongings, including furniture and items for the baby.

The GoFundMe campaign has raised $60 toward its goal to date.
