The Salvation Army warehouse in North Baltimore needs extra help this year. The location on 400 E 29th Street was burglarized 3 times since Thanksgiving.

The most recent burglary happened Tuesday, November 30 and the thieves took toys and clothes that were to be given to underprivileged children.

The organization has now lost tens of thousands of dollars, not just in donations, but also in construction tools.

The warehouse will be home to a 7,000 square foot non-profit grocery store, DMG Foods, which will be the first of its kind in Salvation Army history.

It was set to open its doors on January 15, 2018.

With both the grocery store grand opening and Christmas distribution rapidly approaching, the organization says the burglary of the warehouse is a devastating loss.

Security for the facility has been increased since the most recent burglary.

“The toys that were stolen were identified for the children of this community,” Major Gene A. Hogg, Salvation Army officer.

"We are disheartened that something that is designed to help children and the community itself has been taken advantage of in such a hostile way.”

If you know anything about this theft, please call the Baltimore Police Department at 443-902-4822.
