Sagamore Spirit celebrated its first whiskey barrel dump of straight rye whiskey Wednesday.
The whiskey is dumped out of the barrel to prepare it for bottling. The rye whiskey has been aged three years. About 46 gallons will be filtered, proofed and bottled.
Sagamore Spirit is a Baltimore-based company. The company mingles two different mash bills of straight rye whiskey - a high rye mash and a low rye mash to make their proprietary recipe.
