Residents of Camp 83 have found a new home.
Following news of a plan to evict the group of homeless that live under the on-ramp of I-83, Belvedere Assisted Living Souls of Hope Homeless Shelter acted.
Loleta Chase of Living Souls of Hope partered with Belvedere Assisted Living director Christina Flowers and the project came to life.
A press release issued Wednesday stated that at least four residents of Camp 83 would be in-house by Friday. The organization is working to get the rest of the residents housed.
Donations of household items – beds to toothbrushes are being requested. They can be dropped off at 420 East 28th Street.
