BALTIMORE - When the sun came up Tuesday morning, Baltimore's World Trade Center building cast a shadow that moved across the 9/11 Memorial of Maryland and hit inscriptions that indicate what happened 11 years ago today.
The building, which is shaped like a pentagon, acts as a sundial, and at 8:47 a.m. the tower's shadow hit the etching that notes when the first place hit one of the Twin Towers in New York City.
"Every 911 event will align perfectly at the right time," said Hannah Byron, Assistant Secretary for Tourism, Film and the Arts.
"This is the only monument that we know of in any state that incorporates all three (Sept 11) sites," said Byron.
There is also an exhibit at the top of Baltimore's World Trade Center building that lists the names and pictures of all the Marylanders who died.
