BALTIMORE - Mayor Stephanie Rawlings-Blake has asked for privacy after a cousin was shot and killed in a home invasion overnight.
Her cousin, Joseph Haskins, was shot in the 4100 block of Ethland Street in Baltimore. Police are uncertain if Haskins was the intended victim or what the motive behind the murder is.
Police say the home invasion happened just before midnight and so far, police have no leads or clue as to motive.
The mayor released the following statement:
"This is a tragedy for my entire family. Senseless gun violence affects the lives of too many people-here in Baltimore, and in cities and communities across America. Out of respect for my relatives who are grieving, I ask that the media respect their privacy."
