The Baltimore City Council is considering renaming part of Wyman Park Dell after Harriet Tubman.
The area near the Baltimore Museum of Art and Johns Hopkins University used to be the site of a statue honoring confederate generals Robert E. Lee and Thomas Jonathan "Stonewall" Jackson.
Councilwoman Mary Pat Clarke says if the proposal is approved, the area would be renamed in honor of Tubman, the underground railroad conductor and Maryland native.
Back in August, Mayor Catherine Pugh ordered the Lee-Jackson monument as well as two other confederate statues be removed after a violent protest in Charlottesville, VA.
