BALTIMORE - It's dangerous and delicate work. But the technicians from Pyrotechnico do it well as they get ready for Baltimore’s annual fireworks display.
"The display is going to have a lot of red, white, and blue to cover through the patriotic themes,” said Ryan O'Neil of Pyrotechnico.
Four, 5- and 6-inch shells are carefully prepared and placed in the tubes. But it will be the "bowling ball"-sized 8 inchers that will knock your socks off.
"One of our new shells that we're showing off this year is our new stained glass shells that will show up in different colors and look like stained glass in the air,” O’Neil said.
Ports America Chesapeake continues to sponsor the annual celebration that starts at 4 on Friday with music from two bands at the amphitheater.
"We have Thunderball and the Electric Brigade, which is a Naval Academy band,” said Mitch Case with the Baltimore Office of Promotion and the Arts.
And at 9:30 p.m., nearly 100,000 are expected for the fireworks show. With such a crowd, don't worry about the best place to be.
