The post-conviction hearing for Adnan Syed, the Woodlawn man convicted of murdering his ex-girlfriend in 2000, will be extended into next week.

Syed's case received national attention after it was profiled in the first season of the popular podcast Serial. Host Sarah Koenig probed inconsistencies in the case, and last fall, a judge granted Syed’s motion to re-open post-conviction proceedings.

Syed's lawyer is introducing evidence related to the unreliability of cellphone records that were used to place Syed in Leakin Park, where his ex-girlfriend Hae Min Lee's body was found. Lawyers have also called to the stand a witness, Asia McClain, who says she has an alibi for Syed but was never contacted by his original defense attorney.

Fans of Serial have packed the courtroom in Baltimore this week where the hearing is taking place.

During testimony Friday, Sean Gordon, an investigator, went over the alibi notice of Christina Gutierrez. The original alibi list had 83 names on it, and Gordon tracked down 41 of them.

Gutierrez originally represented Syed and the defense team argues he did not receive adequate representation.
