Police in Baltimore County are investigating the deaths of two people inside a townhome in Middle River as a murder-suicide.

As investigators gathered evidence inside the townhome on Northrop Lane, another officer brought out what appeared to be a diaper bag to an ambulance nearby.

Neighbors told ABC2 News the couple who lived in the home had two young children.

Shortly after noon, Lea Ramos says she was startled by loud noises -- coming from the townhouse next door to her's.

“We were having lunch when suddenly I heard some bangings on the wall,” she said.

She looked out the window, and saw a woman running away from the area -- apparently calling the police.

“She was running frantically, holding a cell phone and then after a few minutes police came,” Ramos said.

The neighbors we spoke with said they didn't know the couple well, but had not seen problems before.

So far police have only described the incident as a "domestic-related murder suicide."  They've said both victims were shot.

Ramos said that's not what she heard -- one shot, shortly after the impacts that rattled her walls.

“Oh my goodness my granddaughter and I were trembling because we didn't really know what was happening. And all of a sudden there were those sounds, terrifying sounds,” she said.

Baltimore County police have not confirmed the identity of the two victims, or detailed what exactly they think happened inside the home.
