The police body cameras were supposed to hit Baltimore City this month, but they haven't arrived.

Mayor Stephanie Rawlings-Blake explained that a delay like this is normal when working on a project this big and that the dates released were approximate.

"You can't get an exact date to get your bathroom redone," she said. "This is a major undertaking. A city-wide undertaking of getting police cameras and we're going to make sure that we get it right."

The updated schedule has the first cameras arriving this week and training for the first group of officers beginning Monday, May 3. Training takes eight hours.

By June, you should see officers wearing the cameras on the streets. Cameras will be sent to officers in each city district.

The goal is to outfit every Baltimore city police officer by January of 2018, but there's nothings that says this set back will or won't delay that.
