Officials from the Baltimore Area Rescue and Care Shelter said Sasha, 15, and Bear, 14, are going to a temporary foster home Wednesday afternoon while the shelter makes sure every option possible is explored to keep them with their family.
The owner of the dogs was told by Baltimore City that he couldn't keep the dogs in his public housing unit because of a judicial ruling last year that deemed pit bulls inherently dangerous animals causing liability issues for owners and landlords.
Since ABC2 News told Sasha and Bear's story, BARCS said
support has been pouring in for the animals from all over the area. The shelter is trying to help the dogs' original owner find an apartment that will allow hi to take the dogs. If not, BARCS said they have been flooded with calls from people who expressed interest in adopting the pair.
