Neighborhoods take part in annual spring cleanup

BALTIMORE - Communities across Baltimore took part in the mayor’s annual spring clean up on Saturday.

The Lake Walker neighborhood in North Baltimore was just  one of over 200 registered communities sweeping alleys, clearing lots and planting flowers to beautify their surroundings just in time for spring.

The city provided bags for volunteers to stack the debris at designated locations for collection on Monday.

As an added incentive to get involved in the annual cleanup, registered participants can receive a reduction in their storm water fees for taking part.
