Needy families chosen to receive meals from Baltimore police/firefighters' unions

Unions hand out Thanksgiving meals

The unions for the Baltimore City police and fire departments are giving out Thanksgiving meals to those in need today.

Baltimore City FOP Lodge 3 and IAFF Local 734 will be distributing the food.  This is the second activity in the newly launched Community Outreach Campaign.

The goal is to foster better relationships between police officer and firefighters and the people they served.  The unions worked with various charities to choose the families who need a little help putting food on the table this holiday.

There are six distribution sites around the city, which includes fire departments, churches and police stations.
