Mr. Trash Wheel is popular around the world

Mr. Trash Wheel isn't just popular in Baltimore - he's gaining fans around the world.

Requests have come in from Spain, Denmark, Japan, Nigeria, the U.K., Qatar, Thailand, Indonesia, Canada and even India from people wanting a water wheel in their neighborhoods.

“We knew early on that Mr. Trash Wheel was a star, celebrity and social media sensation,” said Adam Lindquist, director of the Healthy Harbor initiative for the Waterfront Partnership. “Requests have been flooding in from countries around the world who want to see a Mr. Trash Wheel clean up their rivers and bays.”

Mr. Trash wheel debuted in May 2014. Since then he's collected more than 500 tons of trash.

Professor Trash Wheel made her debut at Harris Creek Park in Canton in December.
