Mother who helped son hide Monae Turnages body is expected in court

BALTIMORE -

On Tuesday the mother accused of helping her son and another boy hide the body of 13-year old Monae Turnage is expected in court for her preliminary hearing.

Forty-nine year old Veronica Alford turned herself in last month and was being held on $500,000 dollars bail.

Police say Alford helped the boys drag Turnage's body into an alley and hide the gun used in the shooting in a city police officer's car.

That officer was cleared of all criminal wrongdoing.

Alford faces a slew of charges including an accessory after the fact, and obstructing a police investigation.

The two boys who accidentally shot Turnage pleaded guilty to their charges earlier this year.
