Baltimore City will resume mosquito-control spraying in some areas Sunday night.

The Maryland Department of Agriculture and the Baltimore City Health Department will deploy trucks to spray between Coolidge Avenue and Benson Avenue; and Sharonleigh Road to S. Grantley Street beginning at 10 p.m.

Residents are advised to avoid outdoor activities. Officials said inspectors will follow up within 48 hours of the spraying by going door-to-door to inspect properties for mosquito breeding sites. They’re also planning to conduct backyard spraying, as needed.

Spraying is being conducted due to the potential for mosquito-borne diseases, including West Nile virus and Zika virus, officials said.

For more information, residents can call MDA’s Mosquito Control Program at 410-841-5870.
