Morgan State University Head Coach Lee Hull accepted an NFL coaching position with the Indianapolis Colts after leading the Baltimore university to a championship division win.
Monday night, after serving two years as head coach, Hull officially announced his resignation to begin his new journey as the new wide receiver coach for the Colts.
The University's Athletic Director, Floyd Kerr issued a statement offering support to Hull in pursuing the new opportunity:
"We were pleased with the direction Coach Hull was taking our football program . We are sorry to see him leave but, of course, wish him well and continued success in his future endeavors."
Morgan State's football team won the 2014-2015 Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference (M.E.A.C) championship only a few months ago and Coach Hull is cited as a major part of the university's success on the field.
President Dr. David Wilson appointed Hull to create new initiatives for the university's football program who was in need of new funding and upgrades.
In light of Hull's new position, Morgan's Athletic Director announced that the football team's offensive coordinator and quarterback coach, Fred Farrier, will serve as the Bears' new interim head coach until the position is filled permanently.
