More than 400 guns collected at Baltimore event

Baltimore City Council President Bernard "Jack" Young says more than 400 city residents got rid of firearms during a gun buyback event held in the wake of Friday's mass shooting at an elementary school in Connecticut.
Young says 461 handguns, rifles and shotguns were collected by Baltimore police officers during the event Saturday. People were given $100 grocery-store gift cards in exchange for each gun.
He says many people told him they wanted to get guns out of their houses because they feared they would end up in the wrong hands.
The event was sponsored by Klein's ShopRite and operated by a nonprofit called UpLift Solutions.
