So far this year the city of Baltimore has seen 189 homicides. That’s 189 parents who have lost their child.

On Sunday M.O.M.S. or Mothers of Murdered Sons and Daughters gathered at Turners Station Park in Dundalk for a cookout. M.O.M.S. is a group that no parent wants to be a part but plays an important role in ending the senseless violence in the city.

The group’s agenda is to give parents the moral support of losing their child while urging murders in Baltimore to stop.

Sunday’s event was also held in memory of Tariq Alstons. He was killed 9-years-ago, his murder is still unsolved.
